Zhu Zhu Toys – Your Kids Will Love Them

Zhu Zhu toys originally only included the Zhu Zhu pets – the hamsters and their accessories. Now the Zhu Zhu range has extended to Zhu Zhu puppies, Zhu Zhu babies, Zhu Zhu Princess and Kung zhu.  You’ll find pages on all of these in the menu on the right.

Let’s take a look at the original Zhu Zhu Pets. Kids love these interactive zhu zhu toys. There were originally only five adorable and furry zhu zhu hamsters which are great for kids from 3 years upwards. Now, of course, the range has expanded no end.

Let’s take a look at the original five hamsters. Each is distinct and has its own personality:

Pipsqueak on the left is a soft yellow color and has a white star on his back. Girls love his color. She is a tiny titan of power and is super smart. She isn’t afraid of anything and is eager to explore.

Mr. Squiggles is a tan color with a white spiral on his back. He just loves to explore. He is the most fussy of the hamsters.

Chunk is white and is a laid-back surfer with a big heart. He loves to chill out until the waves appear and then he’s off to surf.

Num Nums is a light grey color with a white heart on his back. She’s shy but sweet and loves to eat. She can sniff out food from a mile away.

The fifth hamster, Patches, was originally only available bundled accessories but now she is available as shown on the left on her own. She’s a slightly darker yellow than Pipsqueek and has a large white patch on his back. She loves the smell of flowers.

The hamsters have a loving or nurturing mode when they coo and purr. This mode is set off by pressing on the head of the hamster right behind the ears. Your child can hold and cuddle them and give them affection. They make lots of different sounds (more than 40) as they scamper around and each of them is unique in this regard. In explore mode (set off by pressing on the back) they dart around the house or play in the various accessories you can buy.

They have strong wheels and can grip on most surfaces. They will run on hard surfaces and on carpet and will even will climb up your clothes. Be careful not to let your children get them in their hair which can get tangled in the wheels.

Even this is not the complete list. There are a couple of groups of Zhu Zhu pets worth mentioning.

The Zhu Zhu Rockstars

This is a group of four Zhu Zhu pet Rockstars called Roxie, Ryder, Kingston and Pax.

Born Roxanne Renee, Roxie discovered her amazing vocal talent at an open mic night at a local coffee house in Iceland. She changed her name to Roxie and became a world renowned rock star. She joined the Zhu Crew and co-wrote the lyrics for “ZhuZhu Flo,” which was debuted in Phoenix in June 2009. You can see her on the left

Ryder was born into a royal Austrian hamster family. The royal life wasn’t for her, so she packed up her bags and moved across the world to America, where she became Roxie’s agent. She has a secret love for playing the drums, but her stage fright keeps her behind the scenes. You can see her on the right here.

Kingston is a funky hamster who has a passion for the electric guitar and his cool hair! He lived in London for a few years with his best bud, Pax, and was inspired by the punk rocker’s hair styles and music. He loves all things that are not mainstream and living life the rocker way. Pax used to be a loner because of his crazy hair until he met the other Rockstars. He quickly became best friends with Kingston and they decided to get away fromt eh American scene and explore the great U.K. Now he loves to get together with the other hamster and tell them all the crazy stories of the London days. The Wild Bunch

Stinker the skunk is one mischievous prankster. All of the other ZhuZhu Pets try to avoid Stinker, and it’s not just because of his stinky-ness! Stinker always seems to find trouble often gets the other pets in trouble too!  He doesn’t try to be mean, he just thinks it’s fun!

Rocco the racoon loves to be the center of attention! Just like his best friend Stinker, he’s always pulling tricks on people and has a tendency of getting into trouble. When he’s not busy being a prankster, you’ll often find him riding in hot air balloons. It’s his second favorite thing to do!

Sweetie the pink bunny was born a white little bunny.  It was quite a mystery when Sweetie’s coat turned pink. Apparently, instead of eating carrots at every meal, this sneaky little bunny ate cotton candy instead! It didn’t take long before all of the sugar made her pink like her favorite treat.

ZuZu the hedgehog is never without his space helmet. Once he puts it on, his imagination launches into full gear and takes him anywhere he wants in the Zhu-niverse. ZuZu darts around like a rocketship—pay attention or you may only catch a glimpse of him!

Nutters the chipmunk prides himself on being a funny hamster, and he is always planning some kind of silly joke to pull! He loves sneak-attacks and rarely a day goes by without this mischievious little chipmunk getting into some kind of trouble!

Butters, the older chipmunk triplet by 6 whole minutes,  is the one who loves to plan out her prankster attacks. She believes that since she is older, that she is wiser and knows all the tricks of the trickster trade!

The Hamster Babies

The six Hamster Babies are also included in the Zhu Zhu Pets and include Baby Cakes, Butter Cheeks, Muffin, Peanut, Pumpkin and Snickel Fritz. You can get a Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster Babies Set of Six Figures. They are very cute but be aware that they aren’t interactive like the other Zhu Zhu pets and don’t move. They are really Zhu Zhu pet accessories but the kids seem to love them.
